Homeschooling-What I don't miss

Homeschooling-What I don't miss
Hi, I want to tell you a little about homeschooling. Maybe you are thinking of homeschooling, but don't know how, or maybe you think that HOMESCHOOLING means our kids are locked up inside the house.
Last year our 6 (now 7) year old and 5 (now 6) year old daughters were in a Christian school.

Things that I don't miss and I praise God for:
Lice
Our kids don't get lice, like last year when they were in school. We believe in our kids having long hair. We have 4 girls. I would literally spend sometimes up to 5 to 6 hours going through our kids hair. I would get so many eggs/lice out that when I closed my eyes I still seen them. But since the school year ended they don't get lice. Praise God for that. Amen.
Stressful mornings
My husband says he doesn't miss them anymore either. Like our kids being late, and there goes the bus. Then I'd have to start the van and take them to school. It wasn't more than a mile, but still. I didn't want to have to drive. I made a fuss; our children made a fuss. It was loud. Praise God for the peaceful mornings that we have now, by not having to rush.
Crying
Our oldest daughter was in a very mean class. It was awful. She cried almost everyday, because of the teacher yelled at her (we forgive her) and the students were mean to her (we forgive them, too). I would keep telling her to pray for them and maybe her teacher was going through a rough time. It's really too bad that our daughter had and awful experience. But we praise God that our daughter(s) survived.

My husband and I prayed for about 6 months before we decided to homeschool. I wanted to pull her out right after the first semester. But as I was praying, the Lord told me, maybe she should stay and be a bright shining light to her teacher. Maybe her teacher needed her. So, we waited until the school year was over.
Tune in tomorrow to find out more about homeschooling.
